The Perryman Family are our Members of the Month for September!

Our family has been involved with the GHRC for around 17 years, when the kids were younger it was tennis programs and school holiday camps and then eventually we discovered the gym and have never looked back. Group fitness classes are our thing and I can remember back to the very first Tabata and Sprint classes where we got to know Bex and we were really motivated by her special brand of encouragement, it did not take us long to get hooked. We love the group challenges and have completed many of these over the years, Bex has always managed to get something more out of us, even getting Linz to do Zumba ( anything for points right) ! The trainers and our fellow gym friends are what makes us keep coming back, so many familiar faces that make coming to the gym each day feel like home. It is great to finish a class and pop out on to the deck and see so many familiar faces and whilst we don’t always have time for a coffee ( that pesky work thing gets in the way) we look forward to the days that we do as a coffee from Loaded Co is a great way to finish off a morning work out!

Jacqueline and I discovered the joys of exercising outdoors this year with the Outdoor X challenges and eventually convinced Lindsay to join us. There is something special about starting the day with your gym friends and an outdoor work out. The trainers are excellent and although we sometimes whine about Jen’s ‘kickers’, Juniors ‘challenge stations’ and Steve’s ‘ascending work outs’, we secretly love that there is so much variety and we feel challenged every day.  It is great to see the other instructors and staff joining in for classes when they are not hard at work and Cass and Tessa always ensuring that they capture us as often as possible at our sweaty best. You know you are at the best gym in Brisbane when the staff are working out alongside you.

Recently someone asked us what we missed most when we were in lockdown and the answer was easy, going to the gym. Even though we could exercise during lockdown we missed our GHRC friends and the amazing variety of workouts that just keep us coming back.
